Job Description
A leading multidisciplinary consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Manchester-based design team. This is a high-trust, autonomous role reporting directly to the Head of Design, offering the chance to work across complex projects in the healthcare, leisure, commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.You'll be joining a collaborative, technically driven environment where peer reviews are a large part of the workload in a team size of 10-12 (Design team with a wider 60+ technical group).
What You'll Be Doing
* Lead mechanical design and technical delivery across a range of UK and international projects
* Conduct peer reviews and support junior engineers with technical guidance
* Collaborate with electrical counterparts and validation teams to troubleshoot and optimise building performance
* Engage in client-side conversations, offering clear, confident advice and technical insight
* Work on bids and proposals with Tier 1 contractors and advisory groups
* Uphold compliance, sustainability, and value engineering principles across all workstreams
* Operate with autonomy while contributing to daily team meetings and shared design reviews
