Recovery workers act as ‘key workers’ to a caseload of service users, supporting them to decide their treatment goals and develop plans to achieve these. The role includes maintaining regular face-to-face contact with clients, offering advice, information, psycho-social interventions, assessments, risk management, and working closely with clinical staff, partner agencies, and around prescribing needs. No day is the same, but effective communication with service users and colleagues, task management, and a commitment to Turning Point values are essential. You may have lived experience of substance use, mental health, or homelessness (self or a significant other), experience in health and social care, or a keen interest in supporting these groups; if your values align, we have a role for everyone.
