An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing UK Operations & Maintenance business as a Field Service Engineer, supporting a 1.8GW portfolio of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets across Northern England.
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of planned preventative maintenance and unplanned reactive maintenance activities on large-scale BESS assets. You will travel between operational sites within your region in a company-provided vehicle, carrying out a mixture of scheduled and reactive works. A flexible approach to working patterns is therefore required.
There is also a requirement to participate in a 24/7 on-call rota as part of the Field Service Engineering team.
Field Service Engineers are expected to act in an ambassadorial capacity, representing the company on site and demonstrating high technical and professional standards at all times.

What You Will Be Doing
* Comply with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation applicable to the role
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on utility-scale BESS assets
* Use diagnostic tools and procedures to identify faults and implement effective corrective actions
* Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota, providing emergency response support
* Compile technical reports following completion of works, detailing findings and actions taken
* Supervise and coordinate contractors during maintenance and corrective works
* Support site activities relating to outages, repairs and asset performance improvement
* Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, asset owners and suppliers
Who We're Looking For
This is a field-based role covering operational sites across Northern England. Candidates may be based anywhere from the Midlands through to the North West, provided they are able to travel effectively within the region.
The position is technically and physically demanding and requires a disciplined individual capable of delivering the high standards expected within a critical power environment.

For This Role, We Are Looking For Someone with:
* Willingness to work in a field-based role and travel extensively within the region
* Significant field engineering experience
* Electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) or demonstrable industry experience
* Experience working on electrical plant within power, utilities or industrial environments
* Knowledge of power electronics, inverters or grid-connected systems (desirable)
* HV experience or authorisations (desirable)
* Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and technical documentation
* Strong communication skills and a professional approach to client interaction
