Were working with a successful SME in the construction industry who are looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager. This is a broad and hands-on role with responsibility for day-to-day financial management, reporting, and supporting the leadership team with decision-making.
Key responsibilities Oversee bookkeeping, sales and purchase ledger, reconciliations, and payment runs
Manage bank postings, reconciliations, and online banking
Preparation of accruals, prepayments, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
Project costing and analysis to support operational teams
Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts
Credit control and VAT returns, including partial exemption
Liaise with external accountants and HMRC to ensure compliance
Provide financial insight to senior management and contribute to business planning
What were looking for AAT Qualified or part-qualified accountant
Experience working SME businesses
Strong background in the construction sector, with understanding of industry processes and compliance
Proficient in Xero and Excel
A hands-on manager able to build strong relationships across the business
Organised, dependable, and commercially minded
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
