About the Role
As a Project Manager, you will take ownership of the full lifecycle of capital projects – from initial concept and technical specification through to commissioning, validation, and seamless handover to operations. You'll be instrumental in shaping the future of a high-performing manufacturing site, delivering projects that enhance capability, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities for the Project Manager role:
Lead the implementation of capital investment projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope and budget.
Develop project specifications, evaluate technical solutions, and manage supplier selection and negotiations.
Oversee installation, commissioning, and final acceptance testing of new equipment and systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, production, and HSE.
Ensure all technical documentation, risk assessments, and training requirements are completed and compliant.
Monitor project progress, generate reports, and manage CAPEX spend and KPIs.
Champion innovation by investigating new technologies and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Mechanical Engineering qualification
Proven experience managing capital projects in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, utilities, and machinery installation/commissioning.
Proficiency in project planning tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel) and familiarity with Prince2 or similar methodologies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable Skills
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Agile methodologies.
Working knowledge of CAD and CDM regulations.
