You’ll act as the main point of contact for payroll enquiries across our Trade Counters, Head Office, and Contact Centre—delivering a first-class, customer-focused service.

Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
 1. Manage the Payroll shared mailbox and ensure timely responses within agreed SLAs.
 2. Process all aspects of payroll including starters, leavers, amendments, tax code changes, statutory payments, loans, and adjustments.
 3. Set up and maintain Court Orders, SIP & Sharesave, childcare vouchers, and pensions (including Auto Enrolment and Opt-ins).
 4. Reconcile and oversee the flow of pension data to our Pension Administrator.
 5. Advise managers on best practice for maintaining SAP Time and ensure compliance with internal controls and the Group Financial Reporting Manual.
 6. Support internal and external audits.
 7. Identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement in line with Screwfix Smart Working initiatives.
 8. For Ireland & Isle of Man: Extracting data from our workforce management system Rotageek to liaise with our external payroll provider.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
 9. Previous experience within Payroll Services, with solid knowledge of statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP, PAYE, NI).
 10. Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and with third parties (including HMRC).
 11. Intermediate Excel skills as a minimum.
 12. SAP HR knowledge would be an advantage.
