Oadby and Leicester Gymnastics Club (OLGC) is a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-thinking club with a strong sense of community. Since our founding in 2016, we have grown into a thriving gymnastics club, offering both recreational and competitive programmes. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and supportive environment where gymnasts of all ages and abilities can grow in confidence and reach their full potential.
We are currently seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, and experienced Lead Recreational Gymnastics Coach to join our dedicated coaching team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and shape a dynamic recreational programme aligned with British Gymnastics standards and OLGCs core values.
Job Purpose
* Oversee the smooth operation and delivery of recreational coaching sessions.
* Provide a fun, safe, and inspiring environment for gymnasts at all levels.
* Lead, support, and develop a team of recreational coaches.
* Promote and uphold the values and ethos of OLGC.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise a team of recreational coaches, providing clear guidance, support, and feedback.
* Build positive and motivational relationships with coaches, gymnasts, and parents.
* Deliver engaging, age-appropriate, and ability-focused gymnastics sessions.
* Ensure all sessions adhere to safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organised training environment.
* Monitor gymnast progress and provide constructive feedback and development plans.
* Support each gymnasts individual needs and personal growthWork collaboratively with the coaching team, demonstrating adaptability and a strong ability to lead by example.
* Commit to ongoing professional development, including attending relevant training, courses, and team meetings.
Skills & Attributes
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Proven background in coaching gymnastics, ideally in a recreational setting.
* Friendly, confident, and approachable with a sense of humour.
* Organised and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Calm under pressure with excellent adaptability.
* Passionate about working with children and supporting their development.
* Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and across multiple sites when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Level 2 (or higher) British Gymnastics-recognised qualification in Womens Artistic or General Gymnastics.
* Enhanced DBS check through British Gymnastics.
* Safeguarding certification.
* First Aid certification (desirable but not essential).
