Area Sales Manager - North West Region


Role Description

This is an on-site, full-time position for an Area Sales Manager located in Oldbury.

* Sells the entire product portfolio of the company (filler metals, welding equipment, personal protective equipment, wear & surface protection, finishing chemicals, etc.)
* Owns and delivers the annual sales budget (volume, value, margin) for the respective area (territory)
* Develops or supports the development of the area (territory) sales budget & mid-term planning
* Develops sales plans in line with the country and regional sales strategy
* Plans and executes sales initiatives and promotions to meet budgeted KPIs, and develops counter-measures if needed
* Ensure professional provision of technical support and after sales service
* Does monthly rolling (3-6 months) sales volume forecasting
* Follows company’s Sales Process Excellence guidelines and tools
* Uses (CRM) for sales process management (Find-Win-Keep)
* Plans, executes and tracks customer visits and follow-ups
* Does lead generation and opportunity management
* Does customer retention management
* Maintains and expands the customer base of the area (direct accounts, distributors)
* Does pricing within predetermined parameters (price list, price authority for direct business)
* Supports and/or manage RfQ’s for project business
* Manages the customer care (claim) process within the predefined guidelines
* Conducts regular market intelligence (competitor monitoring, market research)
* Coordinates with related functions (MarCom, Technical Sales, etc.)


Qualifications

* Sales and Business Development: Proven ability to identify opportunities, build customer relationships, and achieve sales targets.
* Product Knowledge: Familiarity with welding processes, surface protection, and brazing solutions is highly desirable.
* Market Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform strategies.
* Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Strong customer service skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
* Project Management: Experience in coordinating projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams effectively.
* Problem-Solving: Adept at providing tailor-made solutions and addressing customer challenges promptly.
* Other Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field is preferred. Experience in the welding or manufacturing industry is a plus.
* Authorized to work in United Kingdom
