Overview
Main Duties: To have an understanding and/or experience in supporting people with Spastic Quadriplegia, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, a visual impairment, and a learning disability. You will provide 1:1 and 2:1 support with personal care, feeding, washing, and dressing. You will have some understanding of moving and handling, transfers using equipment and hoists, with full training provided. Administering medication including emergency Epilepsy medication, with full training provided. Hours: 12 hours per week including weekends; flexible to cover shifts as required. You will be required to support with 1, 2, or occasionally 3 calls per day, mornings, teatime, and evenings. You will be working as part of a very small team. You will be required to have a genuine interest in supporting adults with complex needs. Be flexible, patient, punctual and reliable. Respect confidentiality and understand your role in relation to this. Please note: Dogs are part of the household and are very friendly. An enhanced DBS check will be carried out for this post and the cost will be met by Northumberland County Council. References will be requested upon a successful interview.

Requirements & Qualities
* Genuine interest in supporting adults with complex needs.
* Flexible, patient, punctual and reliable.
* Respect for confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.
* Enhanced DBS check required; cost met by Northumberland County Council.
* References will be requested after a successful interview.
* Preferably some experience with disabilities; full training will be provided.
* Valid full UK driving license and own car (as applicable to role).
