Job Overview
The post holder will provide primary mental health care triage assessment to adults who encounter the criminal justice and emergency services. The intervention will be through face‑to‑face and telephone contact, rotating working patterns to support in police custody, courts, and operating a telephone triage service in the police control room.
Main Duties
* Undertake effective clinical mental health and risk assessments of persons in contact with the criminal justice system in settings including police custody and court.
* Utilise agreed pathways to conduct telephone‑based assessment of a person’s needs for those contacting the North Wales Police Joint Communications Centre, supporting the person, agencies and/or carers to provide appropriate support.
* Provide specialist advice to people with mental health needs and their carers regarding the provision of services to meet complex needs.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
