The Role
As a Site Health and Safety Lead, you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary, you’ll support both the MOD Hebrides and UK Safety Function of the business, driving a step change in the safety culture and contributing to improved safety performance. You’ll provide support, competent and professional safety advice to the Site Operation Team in order to develop and continually improve all aspects of our safety culture, performance and management in accordance with the safety management system and relevant legislative requirements.
Day-to-day you'll be:
1. Leading a practical implementation and delivery of HSE legislation, policy, strategy and objectives; applying high professional standards through building strong professional internal networks.
2. Delivering the safety improvements and changes through a process of training, mentoring, coaching and facilitating.
3. Promoting and championing a positive environmental management culture, actively seek continuous improvement, and ensure any significant lessons learned (e.g. from audits, incidents or best practices) are shared widely around the organisation.
4. Providing advice and support to operational and delivery teams in regards to HSE competence assessment, ensuring delivery teams are competent to deliver against respective HSE accountabilities and responsibilities.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and based at our South Uist site with agile working options, including flexible start and finish times, home working, compressed hours and flexible breaks
Essential experience of the Site Health and Safety Lead:
5. Previous experience in a similar Site Health and Safety Lead role
Qualifications for the Site Health and Safety Lead:
6. NEBOSH certificate or an equivalent qualification
