What's the Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and focused Senior Associate Project Manager who is looking to progress their career, who is excited and driven to deliver great projects for our clients, develop new workstreams opportunities, whilst working in a diverse and supportive team.
You will work on a diverse range of projects taking responsibility and being the main contact for the delivery of project management services from inception to completion / close-out to clients across various sectors and project stages. You will be a leader in the health and safety arrangements for projects and manage multidisciplinary teams of internal and external design consultants.
What you need to do to be effective in this role
Stakeholder Engagement: Effective communicate project expectations to the team members and stakeholders.
Manage existing client relationships and assist in the development of further opportunities
Establish detailed client's brief and responsibilities of consultants and specialists
Establish lines of communication and reporting procedures with the client and within the design team
Arrange studies and surveys - Arrange feasibility studies, including site surveys, site investigation, site evaluation etc
Build teams - Advise on/implement the selection and appointment of all necessary consultants and specialists
Assist clients to obtain statutory consents - Co-ordinate and obtain planning consents and all necessary statutory approvals
Prepare and maintain the master programme for all pre and post contract activities and monitor progress
Manage finances from inception to completion, including cash flow forecasts, monitoring project expenditure, and recommendations of payments by client, as well as internal budget and resourcing
Lead and manage the Design team, including leading on risk and value management
Interview and select contractors for tendering or negotiation, evaluate tenders received and appoint contractor
Visit sites and monitor the construction works relating to quality and conformity to agreed specifications and drawings
Administer building contracts, including the preparation of all necessary instructions and certificates (JCT / NEC)
Chair progress, co-ordination and project meetings throughout the contract period
Prepare regular reports to clients on all aspects of the project inspection, scheduling and acceptance of works required under the defects liability and maintenance provisions of the contract
Work with the team leaders to carry out all ‘business as usual' team management activities including: financial reporting and forecasting, recruitment and HR matters, business development and work winning, and other routine business administration.
The skills and experience you need to have for this role
Extensive consultancy design development and construction project management experience
Ability to lead successful delivery of simultaneous projects.
Manage client relationships, including business development
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Be proficient in the use of MS Office and MS Project (or alternative scheduling software) is essential
Ideally have range of experience across multiple sectors
Degree or equivalent and working towards accreditation under a professional body
BSc/MSc in a relevant engineering / project management related subject
You will ideally have one or working toward one of the following qualifications:

MCIOB
APM

Organisational skills to carry out your role effectively and efficiently resulting in achievement of your and the company's goals
Demonstrable risk management experience
Management of detailed design
Stakeholder engagement experience
Extensive understanding of different procurement approaches and contract strategies
An active interest in work generation and business development and a willingness to attend events that support the team and office.
