Overview
TeacherActive is working with a well-known mainstream secondary school in the Ollerton area, Nottinghamshire. The school has high aspirations and offers fantastic support to all staff. The school is looking to appoint a Geography teacher starting in February 2026 on a long-term, full-time cover for the 2026 calendar year. The successful applicant will work across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including exam preparation for GCSEs, and will also teach some Key Stage 3 English lessons. The role is aimed at helping students achieve excellent results in geography while following and implementing the schemes of learning.
Responsibilities
* Teach Geography across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including GCSE preparation.
* Deliver some Key Stage 3 English lessons as required.
* Help students achieve excellent results by following the school's schemes of learning and employing effective teaching strategies.
Qualifications
* A graduate with qualified teacher status.
* A qualified teacher in Geography with a strong teaching record.
* Relevant qualifications (formal or through appropriate experience) to meet the appointment requirements.
* In-depth knowledge of the Geography curriculum within the broader curriculum and an understanding of the importance of a rigorous reading strategy to support reading confidence and fluency.
