*Job Purpose
To plan, direct and coordinate the transport and logistics operations of NSD Haulage Ltd, ensuring legal compliance, operational efficiency, fleet performance, and service delivery across the company's UK haulage activities.
*Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Direct and manage transport operations, fleet deployment and logistics planning
* Develop operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency
* Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations, Operator Licence requirements, and road transport law
* Supervise transport staff including drivers and logistics personnel
* Oversee vehicle maintenance planning, safety inspections and compliance checks
* Monitor tachograph records, working time regulations, and driver hours
* Analyse operational data, costs and performance indicators
* Manage logistics documentation and reporting systems
* Coordinate with customers, suppliers and regulatory bodies
* Lead investigations relating to transport incidents and compliance matters
* Implement continuous improvement strategies in logistics operations
*Skills & Experience Required
* Substantial experience in logistics or transport operations management
* Knowledge of UK road transport legislation and compliance
* Experience managing fleet operations and transport personnel
* Strong organisational and decision-making ability
* Leadership and team management capability
* IT proficiency for reporting and logistics systems
*Preferred:
* Transport Manager CPC
* Experience in FORS or compliance-led environments
