Job Title: Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer

Salary: 45,000+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. Develop a functional design for the Vehicle Control solution for SSNA.
2. Work with a complex relationship of stakeholders to provide oversight in the delivery of the vehicle control solution, and the supporting vehicle control strategy.
3. Work with the engineering manager in the delivery of the vehicle control system, reporting suitable progress through agile toolsets.
4. Deliver the response to the engineering delivery plan, ensuring that the plan is delivered to schedule.
5. Work with the Engineering Delivery Team with varying levels of SQEP to develop technical solutions, developing team members and nurturing their development.
6. Engage with legacy stakeholders in the development of a technical solution from a known baseline design.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential Experience:
* Experience in developing a C&I design for large-scale C&I systems, ensuring compliance with functional, defence, and industrial standards.
* Experience managing non-functional requirements (e.g., EMC, shock) meeting industrial compliance.
* Authoring and reviewing design documents such as I/O schedules, functional design specifications, interface control documents, etc.
* Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Maths, or Science.
Desirable Understanding:
* Control system architecture and communication protocols (e.g., RS-485, PROFIBUS).
* IEC 61508 – Functional Safety experience and producing supporting evidence for safety claims.
* Experience with manoeuvring systems from various industries.
