Purpose of the role

To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It serves as the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients’ needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long‑term success.


Accountabilities

* Manage client relationships to identify clients' financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance.
* Support the analysis of data obtained from various sources, including investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement.
* Research and understand the client’s industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations.
* Design customised solutions that address the client's specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank’s portfolio.
* Communicate the value proposition of proposed solutions, justify recommendations, and negotiate terms that benefit both the client and the bank.
* Provide guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management, wealth‑management strategies, and updates on market trends.
* Assess financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implement measures to minimise potential losses.
* Document all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings to support product development and overall bank strategy.
* Monitor client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship‑management efforts.


Business Relationship Manager – Agriculture Responsibilities

Support the growth of existing clients, deliver tailored lending solutions, and identify new business opportunities across the agricultural sector. Manage a diverse portfolio covering a wide geography and work closely with customers borrowing up to £1million.


Qualifications & Experience

* Relationship management of customers and key business introducers (KBIs).
* Ability to drive own performance and meet sales targets.
* Considerable knowledge and understanding of the agriculture sector.
* Experience in business lending.
* Good understanding of lending processes.
* Strong control and risk management skills.


Assessment Areas

Candidate may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job‑specific technical skills.


Travel & Region

Regular travel is required to meet customers and key business introducers at their business premises. The role covers Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and parts of Hertfordshire.
