Personal Assistant in Acomb, York (Job Ref: YJMO/B98)
A 62 year old lady, living in the Acomb area of York, who has musculoskeletal health conditions, wants to recruit a second Personal Assistant. The post is to work on a casual basis to cover sickness and holidays for her current Personal Assistant. The person receiving care is also the employer. She has hidden disabilities that make her feel judged because they are not always obvious. She can be quiet, and needs someone outgoing who will bring her out of herself.
The job:
The Personal Assistant will be required to assist this lady with all aspects of daily living.
* Personal care support – helping her to shower, wash her hair, dress.
* Making meals and drinks.
* Household tasks such as washing up and laundry.
* Taking the lady shopping.
* Collecting and organising her daily medication.
* Taking her to appointments and days out.
The right person:
* You must be kind, caring, outgoing and chatty.
* Qualified driver with business insurance to use your vehicle for work purposes.
* An interest in arts and crafts is desirable as the employer enjoys upcycling and recycling.
The hours:
Up to 30 hours a week, when cover is needed for staff holidays or sickness. The days and hours of work are to be arranged by mutual agreement. Flexible working is offered, and the ideal candidate will be available to work across all 7 days, including some evening hours.
Permanent part time hours may become available.
The rates of pay and benefits:
£12.60 per hour.
You will receive 5.6 weeks (pro‑rata) paid holidays each year.
