Interface Designer – ESN
We are looking for an Interface Designer to join our Engineering Services Network (ESN) team, delivering end‑to‑end technical solutions across the Radio Access Network (RAN). This role focuses on Mission‑Critical network design on 4G & 5G+ and requires close collaboration with design teams, vendors and test partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and implement technical solutions across domain portfolios, ensuring systemic impact understanding and change assessment.
* Provide technical quality assurance on engineering deliverables within a matrix team.
* Consult on significant component or cross‑domain solutions, offering expert technical guidance.
* Identify opportunities to improve standards and optimise processes.
* Deliver complex, high‑impact problem resolutions and maintain high‑quality outputs on time.
* Collaborate with internal design, optimisation, deployment, operations and external customers to deliver End‑to‑End RAN solutions meeting KPI targets.
* Support field trials of new products and features prior to widespread deployment.
* Develop and manage design scopes, requirements and low‑level vendor designs.
* Analyse technical projects, ensure deliverable feasibility, manage risks and coordinate vendor performance.
* Maintain the EE network as the UK’s top‑performing network and drive vendor compliance with BT targets.
Required Experience & Qualifications
* Expert knowledge and hands‑on experience with 4G & 5G (NSA & SA) design.
* Mobile Radio Access Network design, planning or delivery experience in 4G or 5G.
* Familiarity with test software & devices such as Accuver.
* Proficiency in analysing test logs, Wireshark traces and protocol analyser data for 4G & 5G networks.
* Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders up to Director level.
* National Security Vetting to SC or NPPV level required.
