We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Change and Compliance Lead (12- 17 month FTC) based at our Argos Sainsburys depot. You will provide strong leadership across the Transport Department with full responsibility and accountability for managing the operation for our customer.
Leading our Management, Driver and Admin team in the delivery of exceptional customer service whilst remaining cost effective, ensuring full legal compliance with a safety-first culture.
How will you contribute?
1. Managing a large transport operation delivering to customers in line with the agreed service level and customer service metrics.
2. Fully accountable for the safe delivery and leadership of the Transport Operation for the site.
3. Ensuring full legislative compliance across all areas including driving regulations, whilst clearly operating within health and safety guidelines and operational procedures.
4. Support and delivery of the strategic business plan to maximise efficiency and identify and action improvements to the operation.
5. Delivering costs within budget, with full root cause analysis in the event of variance.
6. Input into and play an active role in the risk register and business planning.
7. Managing a large vehicle fleet operating multi temperature composite loads.
8. Ensure our vehicle maintenance programme and all defects are identified, correctly reported and rectified.
9. Lead an effective trade union relationship and deliver engagement and wellbeing plans for the site.
10. Deliver effective communication to ensure that information flows through all levels of the colleagues effectively and regularly to all key customers and colleagues to promote engagement and build good working relationships.
11. To create and drive a culture of continuous improvement across the department with the deployment of the relevant support mechanisms and tools.
12. Ensuring all policies and procedures are followed that enable Partners to be treated fairly and with respect in line with the Partnership Principles.
13. To create a clear succession plan with the identification, coaching, support and development of the entire transport team.
14. Ensuring all personnel policies and procedures are followed that enable colleagues to be treated fairly and with respect in line with the Wincanton principles.
