Job Summary
This is an additional Health and Safety Advisor role offered on a 12-month fixed term contract; you will work alongside our two experienced advisors. The role will support Merton’s work delivering and further developing the Council’s Health and Safety arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
* Support Merton’s work delivering and further developing the Council’s Health and Safety arrangements.
* Attend the Civic Centre and other locations throughout Merton Borough to conduct audits and inspections of the Council’s premises, including our schools.
* Support the Corporate Health and Safety Manager in implementing a safety management system, including reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
* Implement the health and safety improvement programme.
* Deliver induction and training to staff across the council.
* Advising on health and safety responsibilities and further developing a positive culture.
Qualifications
* A strong background and experience in health and safety is required.
* Willingness to attend the Civic Centre and other locations throughout Merton Borough to conduct audits and inspections of the Council’s premises, including our schools.
* Excellent communication, collaborative skills and an ability to work across a varied range of projects.
* ’Can do’ attitude.
