Ward Manager (RMN)
Location: Derbyshire (DE75 area)
Salary: £57,750 per annum
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm)
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a professional, confident and experienced Ward Manager (RMN) to lead and inspire a specialist inpatient team within a 12-bed highly specialised Eating Disorder service.
This service supports adults with low BMI and complex needs, focusing on weight restoration, psychological support, and equipping individuals with the skills required to continue their recovery journey at home. The hospital provides a safe and secure care pathway for individuals with eating disorders and complex personality disorders with disordered eating.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a purpose-built adult mental health hospital committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a nurturing and recovery-focused environment.
Please note: Previous experience managing an Eating Disorders ward is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage and develop the ward team to deliver outstanding patient care
* Provide recommendations and proposals to the Clinical Manager to support ongoing service development
* Participate in and contribute to professional and regulatory visits
* Maintain robust monitoring systems relating to professional nursing practice, including NMC registration compliance
* Ensure service evaluation is patient, carer and family-focused
* Provide guidance to non-clinical staff regarding the management of patients with mental illness
* Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure adherence to professional and organisational policies
* Oversee audits, action plans and continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Monitor, manage and reduce clinical risk while promoting recovery-focused care
About You
You will be:
* A Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration
* Experienced in managing an Eating Disorders inpatient ward
* Confident in leading change, motivating teams and driving service improvements
* Experienced within an inpatient mental health setting
* Knowledgeable in the Mental Health Act and current nursing best practice
* Compassionate, resilient and recovery-focused
* Skilled in completing audits and ensuring action plans are effectively implemented
