Hales Group are happy to be working with of our successful and growing companies based in south Norfolk area, to assist them in finding a Maintenance/Service Manager. Although experience within fire safety would be beneficial, my client is happy to see CV's with mechanical and electrical backgrounds.

Hours:

Monday to Friday

Salary:

£50,000 - £55,000 Per annum

Role Purpose:

To lead and manage the maintenance/service department to maintain fire safety equipment; ensuring efficient scheduling and delivery of maintenance services to clients. The Maintenance/Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the Maintenance Administration team, Maintenance Engineering team and Maintenance Key Account Manager (KAM). You will lead the growth of revenue, and the team capability required to deliver current and future growth. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, measurement, reporting and management of internal and external Key performance Indicators (KPI's.) Efficient and effective processing of maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to internal processes, health and safety standards, and customer satisfaction goals.

Duties Include:

Lead the Administration and Engineering teams, with direct reports including the Senior Maintenance Coordinator, Senior Maintenance Engineer, and Maintenance KAM.
Guide and support direct reports to ensure efficient task processing and high-quality service.
Focus the Maintenance KAM on generating and pursuing leads.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development.
Oversee recruitment, training, and development of maintenance staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and best practices.
Manage planning and execution of maintenance visits, ensuring resource efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Maintain the maintenance schedule and ensure timely delivery of contracted services.
Work with the Senior Maintenance Coordinator to ensure activities are planned, documented, and invoiced.
Ensure clear communication with clients and internal teams such as senior management, maintenance, finance and projects teams.
Handle weekly/monthly operational reporting.
Collaborate with the Senior Maintenance Engineer to provide technical support and training to field engineers.
Act as main contact for maintenance clients, ensuring satisfaction and resolving issues.
Manage contracts, monitor SLAs and KPIs, resolve disputes, and support renewals.
Approve quotations and ensure accurate costing for remedial and additional services.
Ensure all operations meet HSE regulations and company policies.
Monitor and update RAMS documentation.
Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Other Responsibilities:

Direct: Customer satisfaction, contract compliance, revenue generation, operational efficiency.
Indirect: Staff morale, company reputation, certification compliance.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

Essential:

Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a maintenance or engineering environment.
Excellent planning, scheduling, and organisational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience using CRM or maintenance management software.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Financial awareness and experience managing budgets or cost control measures.
Desirable:

Knowledge of fire protection systems, particularly water mist suppression systems.
Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., electrical or mechanical engineering certification).
Experience in contract management and negotiations.
Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
