The Property team play a pivotal role in designing, delivering and maintaining beautiful restaurant spaces to host this happiness. We work very closely with a number of Industry leading Architects and Interior Designers to deliver these beautiful restaurant spaces. About the role: The Interior Designer’s primary role will be to work with our Estates Team to manage and maintain the design integrity of our 500 beautiful restaurants. There will be a varying number of projects each year, but the focus will be on small refurbishment schemes within the national estate. These schemes will be managed day to day by our project managers, however you will remain close for the full duration providing continued support as and when required. You will find yourself making daily creative decisions with our design experts to build on and enhance our beautiful spaces. You will have a responsibility to protect our African heritage and help us build on our special brand as it evolves and moves forward. Key Responsibilities & Expectations: Close collaboration with estates team to ensure design is upheld within the existing estate. This will include respecifying finishes and furniture as well as CAD drawings for small works projects In alignment with the Design Manager, you will guide the design of a variety of projects and be responsible for revising layouts, presenting concept designs for sign off Be responsible for checking in on the onsite progress and sometimes assist with the dressing of the space at the end of a project Close partnering with our external design practices, including spending time in their studios working on projects to support Nando’s design growth Direct engagement with Nando’s fixtures and fittings suppliers in South Africa to work their products into schemes where appropriate Working with the Design Manager to track orders for live projects as well as assisting with day-to-day management and administration Responsible for managing, booking, and curating restaurant photography for all new build and refurbishment projects Provide design support to cross-functional projects through close collaboration with internal teams Attend design presentations with the wider design team to sign off the concept visuals with key Nando’s design stakeholders Conduct research and support creative side projects aligned with design stakeholders visions. Develop and maintain design guidelines and standards documentation to ensure consistency across project managers, designers and external consultants Maintain a tight collaborative relationship with all project stakeholders Key Stakeholders: Design Manager Head of Design Property & Sustainability Director Head of Construction Head of the Existing Estate Operations Team External Designers & Architects The candidate should possess / be: Have a good eye for design detailing Passionate about design and getting the best from a space Have a quest for perfection, but have a practical approach to achieving it Able to flex a design to achieve an agreed brief and budget Cad & visualizing software skills for presentation & drawing packs Motivated and have a positive energy and outlook The drive to see things through to completion Open-minded & collaborative Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to control, plan and organise Interpersonal warmth and adaptability when working in project teams Able to manage own time and operate without close supervision A relevant Design Degree (or equivalent) and have at least 2 years experience in industry Based in the South of England within easy reach of London and willingness for occasional travel around the UK Our candidate should be looking for: Lots of variety in a working week, no two days will be the same Opportunities to solve problems and work with creative people Being a design ambassador in a business An office that is informal, fun and social – just like our restaurants A business that seeks to support every employee to be at their best, and encourage individuality This role will be based in our Putney offices 3 times a week.
