Flexsource NI are currently recruiting for a Band 5 Fire Prevention Officer on a full time, temporary basis.
This role will be based in Craigavon, and involves travel to sites across the Southern Trust area.
Responsibilities:
1. Carry out fire risk assessments, fire drills, and routine fire safety inspections across Trust sites.
2. Provide expert advice and guidance on fire safety to managers and staff, promoting a safe working environment and strong compliance culture.
3. Support the development, review, and implementation of fire safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
4. Identify training needs and contribute to fire safety training programmes and compliance monitoring.
5. Investigate fire safety concerns and incidents, producing reports with recommendations for improvement.
6. Liaise with managers, staff, and stakeholders to identify risks and implement effective control measures.
7. Produce fire safety reports, statistics, and assessments to support informed decision-making.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation and best practice, ensuring ongoing compliance.
9. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote high standards of health, safety, and quality.
Requirements:
10. Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
11. Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification, including practical experience conducting assessments. (Level 3-5 desirable)
12. At least 12 months’ relevant experience in fire safety or a related environment.
13. Experience in conducting fire risk assessments using recognised standards (e.g. HTM Firecode, PAS 79 or similar)
14. Experience delivering training and producing reports
15. Full UK driving licence with access to transport.
