Overview
We are seeking a patient-focused pharmacist to support the Lead Divisional Pharmacist(s) in providing clinical pharmacy and business level support within East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. The specialist pharmacist post is based within the Acute Trust Division and works closely with clinicians to deliver high-quality service to patients.
Responsibilities
* Support the Trust Lead Antimicrobial/Divisional pharmacist in the use and management of antimicrobial therapy.
* Work with the acute medicine division and antimicrobial use in a portfolio style role at Conquest Hospital, with possible cross-site work at Eastbourne District General Hospital.
* Provide clinical pharmacy services to acute inpatient wards and occasional support to the dispensary.
* Collaborate with consultants, medical staff, nurses, pharmacy staff and allied health professionals to ensure safe, effective, evidence-based medicine use across ESHT.
* Participate in a weekend and on-call rota after an orientation and induction period.
* Engage in education and training: mentor pre-registration pharmacists, pharmacy undergraduates and rotational clinical pharmacists.
Working Conditions
* Base location: Conquest Hospital, Hastings; cross-site duties at Eastbourne District General Hospital may be required.
* Shift pattern includes evening duties and weekend/on-call service on a rota basis.
