The Lead Platform Architect will be responsible for steering the delivery of cutting-edge cloud platforms and enterprise solutions that drive large-scale digital transformation, delighting customers and delivering meaningful impact for users worldwide. Operating within multi-disciplinary Agile teams, the Lead Platform Architect provides strategic technical leadership, shaping a shared understanding of desired business outcomes, evaluating complex technical landscapes, and ensuring architectural decisions are made with clarity and insight.
By fostering strong, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, including executive and C-level leaders, the Lead Platform Architect establishes robust architectural principles and defines the strategic direction for platforms, ensuring alignment with both functional and non-functional requirements.
A key figure within the organisation’s platform capability, this role sets the technical vision, drives innovation, and champions the development of engineering blueprints and standards. The Lead Platform Architect actively contributes to account strategy, nurtures customer relationships, and shares specialist knowledge, acting as a recognised technology ambassador.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Eligible for SC clearance, with a strong interest in working on complex, high-impact programmes within the UK Public Sector.
* Demonstrable track record of leading the delivery of platforms supporting major cloud transformations, including migrations, application modernisation, and deployment of large-scale web applications.
* Proven ability to make critical technology decisions, ensuring the successful execution of delivery to achieve exceptional customer outcomes.
* Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with senior stakeholders, effectively translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
* Hands-on experience with major public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
* A commitment to talent development, with proven experience in mentoring, coaching, and supporting the career growth of team members and the wider community.
