About the role As a Store Manager at Hobbycraft, you are accountable for all aspects of store operation and performance within your store, including delivering excellent customer service that encourages repeat visits and drives incremental sales. You will live and breathe our values, and ensure your team are engaged to do the same Keyholder – As the principle keyholder, you will be responsible for opening and closing the store, day-to-day running of the shift and attending alarm callouts if required Planner –as well as planning day to day, you will plan ahead, including scheduling, holiday, and store operational planning KPIs – you will be obsessive about sales, making commercial decisions to improve KPI performance for your store, and coach others to do the same Recruitment and Succession – you will build a high performing team through the ownership of the recruitment lifecycle, induction of new colleagues and the development and training of existing colleagues Relationship builder – you will ensure everyone is treated fairly and with dignity and respect at all times, adhering to our Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging policy to ensure a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all Merchandiser – managing stock and merchandising controls, you will ensure stock performance is maximised, shrink is minimal, and store standards are top quality. You will be required to manage deliveries, meaning manual handling is an essential part of the role Policy Expert - you will ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations, helping to ensure the store has high audit compliance at all times and remains a safe and legal place to work for you and your team Communicator - you will deliver clear and concise communications, so your team understand store and company expectations and how to deliver them Visible – you will be present on the shop floor as much as possible to ensure your responsibilities are met, making sure you complete office admin duties as efficiently as possible Protector - as the most senior colleague in store, you will be responsible for all cash controls, back of house access, general store and colleague security, protection of personnel files, and all data compliance (e.g payroll, recruitment, personal data) Performance Management – you are responsible for the performance management of your team, providing coaching where appropriate and conducting formal meetings and providing recognition to the team for outstanding results.
