Position: Finance Manager Location: Stanley House, Anthony's Way, Medway City Estate, Rochester, ME2 4NF Line Reporting Manager: Finance Director Hours: Monday - Friday, 07:00am - 17:00pm Principle Duties and Accountabilities: Provide transactional and reporting support to the Finance Director. Roles and Responsibilities: Reconciliation of general ledger and support for purchase and sales ledgers. Working with the Finance Director preparing month end financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows/working capital, variance analysis and commentaries. Working with and guiding other departments to ensure spending is kept in line with budgets. Assisting the Finance Director in advising on the financial implications of business decisions. Treasury activities to assist cash flow management. Assisting with the reporting and analysis of financial performance; contributing to medium and long-term business planning in line with budgets and forecasts. Assist in the interpretation and communication of financial data to non-financial managers. Liaising with other departments to put finances and accounts in context. Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed. Implementing financial policies and ensuring internal financial controls are adhered to. Qualifications / Competency: Professional accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).Qualification by experience will also be considered. Knowledge and awareness, with an interest in business and an understanding of how an organisation works and manages resources. Previous experience in the transport, waste, or logistics industry desired but not essential. A high level of numeracy and the ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way. Professionalism and commitment; with excellent oral and written communication skills. IT proficiency Project management skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels including non-finance members of staff. The ability to remain impartial. A lively and enquiring mind with a logical approach to work, combined with analytical and problem-solving skills. Organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Previous experience in a financial background is essential. Previous experience in the transport, waste, or logistics industry desired but not essential.
