Quantity Surveyor – Water / Utilities (Civils)

We are working with a leading civils main contractor who is experiencing significant growth following the recent award of several lucrative, long‑term water and utilities frameworks across Kent and the South East. As part of this expansion, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis to support the commercial delivery of high‑volume civils and utilities works, including projects for South East Water. This role offers excellent long‑term stability, exposure to major frameworks, and clear opportunities for career progression within a growing contractor.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial management of water and utilities civils projects
* Weekly cost and revenue reporting and analysis
* Control and validation of daily completed works submissions
* Preparation and management of Schedules of Rates (SOR)
* Subcontractor cost reconciliation and preparation of payment certificates
* Liaison with Operations and Planning teams on programme, progress, and scope changes
* Commercial review of schemes against framework targets
* Pricing high‑volume, low‑value civils and utilities works
* Supporting weekly and monthly WIP reviews
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils, water, utilities, or infrastructure
* Strong background working on high‑volume, low‑value frameworks
* Working knowledge of NEC contracts
* Strong Excel capability (formulas, pivot tables, lookups)
* Commercially astute with strong stakeholder management skills
Desirable
* Degree in Quantity Surveying
* HNC / HND in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
