At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services, facilitating a unified approach to complex installations within the power station’s rooms.
The Role
As a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping, you will lead and manage the team, implement best practices, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements. Your responsibilities include delivering Mechanical & Piping Workpacks, supporting the MEH Alliance programme, and promoting a strong HSE culture throughout the project lifecycle.
* Facilitate the use of the Procon system for construction activities and progress reporting.
* Ensure adherence to Work Authorization and Permit systems managed by NNB.
* Coordinate safe access routes for construction efforts.
* Conduct surveys to support construction projects.
* Manage documentation to enable construction activities according to the plan, with acceptance three months prior to start.
* Ensure all documents comply with the latest work information and MEH documentation.
This is a full-time role, based on a 37-hour workweek at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.
Essential Experience
* Experience in major construction projects within highly regulated sectors, with knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
* Experience at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including within Joint Ventures.
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent vocational training in Mechanical and Piping system installation.
Security Clearance
