Role Overview
Part 21 Electrical / Avionics Engineer – supporting the certification of large aircraft modifications for our global airline partners at the BGS EASA Modifications site in Frimley, UK. The role will ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements and contribute to design activities, certification activities, and documentation for continued airworthiness.
Key Responsibilities
* Report to the Electrical / Avionics Engineering Manager and work with the global engineering services team across time zones to identify requirements and solutions for active and upcoming projects.
* Contribute to design activities to ensure compliance with design requirements and address certification and design/integration issues related to electrical/avionic equipment and systems changes for large aircraft modifications.
* Support certification activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Compile engineering documentation and instructions for continued airworthiness, including:
o Wiring diagrams
o Wire routing installation drawings and harness fabrication drawings
o Service Bulletins / accomplishment instructions
o Aircraft and component manual ICA supplements (wiring diagram manuals, system schematic manuals, EWIS assessments)
* Compile certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical system-related airworthiness requirements, including:
o Electrical load analysis documents
o Test plans and reports
o Compliance Statements
o System Safety, Equipment Qualification and EWIS documents
o Compliance checklists
o Certification programmes
* Act as Boeing representative during customer milestone meetings such as ITCM, PDR, CDR and FAI and provide on‑site support during the embodiment phase of the project.
Occasional national and/or international travel to visit teammates, customers and subcontractors is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Avionics, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
* Adaptable and resilient with high expectations, integrity, and a collaborative mindset. Demonstrated willingness to share knowledge and admit limitations.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
* Current or recent experience within the aerospace industry, specifically with an EASA Part 21J Design Organization.
* 1‑2+ years of relevant experience.
* Basic working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements (E)TSO, CS‑25, JAR‑25, FAR‑25 for the electrical/avionics discipline.
* Knowledge and experience with aircraft interior modification programmes.
* High level of attention to detail and professional integrity.
* Ability to efficiently manage multiple programmes with varying requirements.
* Strong prioritisation skills and flexibility to changing situations.
* Effective collaboration with colleagues and customers, embodying Boeing core values: Honesty, Integrity and Transparency.
