As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Oversight and Governance Technology, you play a vital role in an agile team dedicated to developing, improving, and delivering reliable, market-leading technology products that are secure, stable, and scalable. As a key technical contributor, you will be tasked with implementing essential technology solutions across diverse technical domains, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm's strategic goals.
Job Responsibilities
* Execute creative software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot technical issues with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or analyze problems.
* Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.
* Identify opportunities to automate or eliminate recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems.
* Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability within existing systems.
* Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new technologies.
* Contribute to team culture of opportunity, respect, and collaboration.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
* Formal training or certification in Java with proficient advanced experience.
* Experience in technical and team leadership.
* Experience developing and maintaining enterprise applications.
* Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
* Experience with automation and continuous delivery methods.
* Understanding of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
* Knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
* Proficiency in software applications and technical processes within disciplines like cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
* Deep understanding of the financial services industry and IT systems.
* Practical cloud experience.
Additional Skills
* Experience working with Camunda workflow engine.
* Experience creating scalable systems leveraging real-time messaging.
