As the operational manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the CMHT, ensuring delivery against key performance indicators and working with teams to meet local population needs. You will collaborate with external agencies to develop an integrated place-based care model.
You will have opportunities for training and professional development, supported by a Deputy Director and Service Manager with extensive mental health expertise.

Main duties of the job
1. Manage the Community Mental Health Team, overseeing workload and priorities.
2. Ensure systems for care plans and Personalisation are in place and accessible to service users.
3. Work within relevant legislative frameworks (e.g., Mental Health Act, Care Act).
4. Promote a culture of service user choice and control, monitored through supervision and appraisal.
5. Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies for vulnerable adults.
6. Coordinate multidisciplinary team services to be responsive to service user needs.
7. Monitor caseloads and clinical review processes.
8. Provide clinical supervision to professional staff and maintain high standards of practice.
9. Demonstrate clinical competence in supervision and direct service delivery.
10. Participate in the CMHT management team, advising on service delivery and resource needs.
11. Coordinate with other community and inpatient services, maintaining effective agency liaison.
12. Maintain and develop administrative procedures for case record recording.
13. Involve service users in team and service development.
Person specification
Education and Qualifications
* BSc/BA in a health or social care discipline
* Relevant Management Qualification
Experience
* Extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams at band 7 or above.
* Experience in managing adult community mental health services and service development.
* Partnership working with agencies and multi-professional collaboration.
* Experience managing staff, resources, and budgets.
* Report writing and delivering presentations.
* Proficiency with IT packages like Word, Excel, email.
