Job purpose
As a Dental Nurse Tutor, you will provide professional education, learning and development to a wide range of learners—both medical and non-medical. Working closely with the education and managerial teams, you will assess, mentor and deliver high-quality teaching that contributes to learner success, clinical outcomes, and ultimately patient care.
Main duties
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and innovative learning sessions.
* Manage a caseload of learners, providing marking, feedback, and pastoral support.
* Support learner progress through regular contact and tailored action plans.
* Create an inclusive and safe learning environment.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of awarding body requirements and apprenticeship frameworks.
* Mentor and support new or seconded tutors.
* Identify and implement training solutions that promote evidence-based best practice.
* Prepare reports on learner progress, compliance, and inspection readiness.
* Lead on curriculum/clinical areas, providing guidance to colleagues.
* Monitor and evaluate teaching quality against awarding body standards.
* Prepare and manage assessments, ensuring exam security.
* Contribute to teaching materials and resources.
Person specification
* Qualified and registered Dental Nurse (GDC).
* Minimum 3 year’s post-qualification teaching/mentoring experience.
* Previous experience mentoring/teaching.
* Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (or equivalent/higher).
* Evidence of continual professional development.
* Knowledge of current practices, guidelines, and awarding body requirements.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Effective social skills and ability to work with learners and the public.
* Able to work independently and as part of a team.
* Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (or equivalent/higher such as PGCE, PTTLS).
