Job Title: Freight Operations Supervisor

Purpose of the Job
Responsible for end-to-end control of all shipments coming into and out of the Roadfreight depot. Supervisory and management responsibilities for team members. This is a highly focused, administrative role, so attention to detail is essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Supervise a team of Freight Operations Executives.
* Serve as the first point of escalation for issues in the department, providing explanations and resolutions.
* Liaise between the local transport provider and job owners to ensure smooth transfer of information regarding collections and deliveries.
* Accept bookings onto the internal Aramex system booked directly by customers.
* Create and issue manifests for deliveries assigned to the correct haulier daily.
* Monitor, chase, and process all PODs, ensuring timely updates to the internal system.
* Log and report daily inbound trailer outturns, providing updates and missing delivery notes to the transport team.
* Accept EDI transfers for trailers arriving from Germany, book deliveries with consignees, and pass relevant information to the transport team.
* Contact hauliers for quotations on collection/delivery outside of service levels.
* Ensure shipments are assigned to the correct clearance manifest for customs clearance.
* Update the Linehaul department on freight volume changes for effective planning.
* Handle customer, subcontractor, and driver queries via phone and email, ensuring timely resolutions.
* Perform data entry with attention to detail.
* Maintain daily shipment cost reports for the accounts department, ensuring additional costs are approved.
* Ensure Trafford Park operations pass internal compliance reports.
