Deputy Director Digital, Data & Evidence - 31387
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to head our Digital, Data and Evidence (DDE) team within the Flood Risk Directorate (FCRM) at the Environment Agency. This role is crucial in addressing the climate and biodiversity crises, weather extremes, and water quality challenges.
The successful candidate will lead the delivery of vital technical services, including:
* Digital services for flood risk awareness and asset management
* Flood risk modelling and hydrology support services
* Data management and improvements for FCRM
You will set strategic direction, influence standards, and lead a newly formed team of 120 specialists dispersed across England. Responsibilities include embedding recent changes, developing service plans, and establishing a high-performing team culture.
Responding to flood or environmental incidents is integral to this role, with potential for additional payments and training.
You will report to the Director of Innovation, Systems and Services, and manage eight direct reports. Essential experience includes managing large, multidisciplinary teams, setting strategic direction, influencing senior leaders, and managing budgets and complex projects. Desirable skills include relevant qualifications and knowledge of Agile development practices.
