Title: Early Years Leader
Reporting to: Camp Manager
Contract: Seasonal work in school holidays
Hours: 8.00am–6.00pm weekdays. Full season or part season roles available.
Summary Of Position
Our Early Years Leader oversees the delivery of the Early Years programme on camp, fostering an exciting, enjoyable, and nurturing environment. You will deliver structured sports, arts and crafts activities, and games to the Early Years children enrolled on camp – our Ultimate Activity Juniors. Activities will follow EYFS requirements, emphasizing participation and quality.
With support from the Camp Manager, you will be the key contact for the 4- and 5-year-olds on camp, ensuring their welfare and providing high-quality care. You will also be responsible for meeting all Ofsted requirements and serving as the primary contact for parents of our Juniors.
Our Early Years settings operate within a ratio of 1:8, meaning you may work alone or within a team. It is the duty of the Early Years Leader to coordinate, direct, and support the team to ensure high-quality childcare at all times.
Duties And Responsibilities
1. Oversee the delivery of a fun and engaging programme for the Ultimate Juniors, ensuring all EYFS requirements are met.
2. Prepare and deliver quality sports, arts & crafts, and games for 4- and 5-year-olds, focusing on participation, development, and enjoyment.
3. Lead and support a small team of Early Years staff.
4. As the registered person, ensure Ofsted requirements are consistently met, liaising directly with inspectors during inspections.
5. Act as the main point of contact for parents and guardians, providing feedback and addressing concerns.
6. Manage administrative duties such as sign-in/out and registration.
7. Collaborate with the Camp Manager to promote children's welfare.
8. Supervise and engage with children outside activity times.
9. Ensure childcare provision meets the needs of children from diverse backgrounds and stages of development.
10. Uphold the Ultimate Activity Camp promise of ‘Inspiring Children Every Day’ by demonstrating appropriate behavior and professionalism.
11. Exhibit high energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, serving as a role model.
12. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including health, safety, and safeguarding protocols.
13. Perform other duties such as cleaning and equipment maintenance as required.

Essential Requirements
* Minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare or Primary Education, with significant experience working with 4- and 5-year-olds.
* Experience in working with children, delivering activities, and adapting sessions to age and ability.
* Enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about child development through play and activities.
* Strong organizational and communication skills; confident in leading children and handling responsibilities.
* Good knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and its application in a camp setting.
* Excellent face-to-face communication and customer service skills, confident in interacting with parents.
* Proactive, conscientious team player capable of adapting to dynamic situations.

Desirable Requirements
* Experience in supervisory or mentoring roles.
* Experience managing a group of children independently.
* Paediatric First Aid qualification (12-hour or 6-hour).
