Job Role: Therapeutic Project Worker

It is important to understand your role as a Therapeutic Project Worker and to learn about and understand your place within the company. Long-term positive change for young people is achieved through continuity, care planning, therapeutic interventions, and a team approach.

Main Duties - In the Home
* Support and encourage children to reach their potential.
* Support a caring, homely environment by maintaining cleanliness and order.
* Maintain professionalism and support young people in overcoming challenges.
* Promote independence by supporting life skills development.
* Ensure effective handovers and daily planning.
* Accurately complete paperwork, including engagement and mood records.
* Follow operational procedures, conduct safety checks, and keep the home welcoming.
* Engage with Wellbeing Services for therapeutic support.
* Support medication administration per policy.
* Handle petty cash responsibly and report discrepancies.
* Drive company vehicles safely for young people's activities.
* Provide personal care when needed.
* Stay updated with policies and procedures.
* Follow safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Promote the company's ethos and values.
* Use training and supervision to manage challenging behavior and emotional responses.
* Involve young people in their care planning and decision-making.
* Develop and update individual risk assessments and behavior plans.
* Use approved techniques for physical interventions and debrief afterward.
* Encourage participation in activities that promote growth.
* Maintain high standards of recordkeeping.
* Understand the importance of following team plans and structures.
* Act as a key worker, completing all relevant reports.
Main Duties - My Team
* Work collaboratively, respecting diverse views and practices.
* Understand and commit to shift patterns and on-call duties.
* Report poor practice through proper channels.
* Attend team meetings, training, and contribute actively.
* Participate in shift evaluations and reflections.
Support/Training
* Attend monthly supervision and wellbeing support sessions.
* Complete induction and mandatory training, including NFPS Physical Intervention.
* Maintain up-to-date qualifications, including Level 3 within two years and access to Level 5 opportunities.
