The Role
We are seeking an experienced BMS Commissioning Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Trend and Tridium (Niagara) systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, optimisation, and handover of BMS installations across a range of commercial and/or industrial projects.
This role requires a proactive engineer who can work independently on site, liaise effectively with project teams and clients, and ensure systems are delivered to specification, on time, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Commission BMS systems from point-to-point testing through to full system handover
Work extensively with Trend and Tridium (Niagara N4) platforms
Configure and commission controllers, I/O points, graphics, alarms, and trends
Carry out system integration with HVAC plant and third-party systems
Perform fault finding, testing, and system optimisation
Produce commissioning documentation, test sheets, and as-built records
Support witnessing, demonstrations, and client handover/training
Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and end clients
Ensure works are completed in line with specifications, drawings, and industry standards
Adhere to site health & safety procedures at all times
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer
Strong working knowledge of Trend systems
Strong working knowledge of Tridium / Niagara (N4)
Experience commissioning HVAC control systems
Ability to read and interpret control schematics and technical drawings
Competent in point-to-point testing and system validation
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Good communication and client-facing skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload on site
Desirable (but not essential)
Trend or Tridium certifications
Experience with system integration (e.g. Modbus, BACnet, KNX)
Previous experience in commercial buildings, healthcare, data centres, or similar environments
Electrical or controls engineering background
