The Role
Are you interested in how data and evidence is used to plan communities? This is a great opportunity to build your data and analytical skills while learning how evidence shapes the future of our communities. We’re looking for a Land Development Monitoring Officer to join Hampshire County Council’s Land Supply team, working within our established land supply monitoring service. You’ll help gather, analyse, and interpret data on housebuilding and land use change across Hampshire. If you’re interested in the built environment, enjoy problem solving, and have an eye for detail, this role offers a supportive environment to learn, grow, and gain hands‑on experience within a high performing local authority.
What you’ll do
You will collect and analyse land‑use and housebuilding data across Hampshire, manage datasets using your IT and analytical skills, and contribute to monitoring outputs. During part of the year, you will also carry out site visits across the county. With development and training, you will be required to work independently as well as collaboratively.
What we’re looking for
You should bring strong data‑handling and IT skills, along with excellent attention to detail and accuracy, and a genuine interest in planning, housing or the built environment. The role also requires someone who is proactive, organised and keen to learn, with the willingness and ability to travel across Hampshire for site visits.
