Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Years Childminder Educator to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our setting. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in early years education and a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. We need someone who can start immediately.
This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes the development and well-being of young learners aged 0-5 years.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of childminders, ensuring high standards of care and education
* Develop and implement engaging educational programmes tailored to children's needs
* Oversee the planning and delivery of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring all 7 areas of learning are effectively implemented:
* Prime Areas: Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development
* Specific Areas: Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, Expressive Arts and Design
* Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to support development
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress and any concerns
* Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of care and education
* Manage classroom activities, ensuring children are actively engaged and supported
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures
* Uphold health and safety regulations within the nursery setting
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills in early childhood education
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in early years education
* Relevant qualifications in Early Childhood Education or Childcare (e.g., Level 3 Diploma)
* Strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and the 7 areas of learning
* Proven experience in managing and leading a team
* Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A nurturing attitude with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Desirable: Driving licence for off-site activities or excursions; commitment to ongoing professional development
