Title: Tactical Buyer
Role: 12-month fixed-term
Primary Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of the Tactical Buyer role is to be responsible for the effective and accurate processing of orders from purchase to payment (P2P), including creation and execution of Purchase Orders, ensuring they meet technical and quality specifications, contractual conditions, and total acquisition cost, as well as managing supplier performance and relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the timely and accurate acquisition of products and services, utilizing the most cost-effective purchasing channels to meet department requirements.
2. Generate and successfully execute purchase orders to ensure material availability and service provisions align with operational demands.
3. Own the resolution of issues such as non-conformities, supplier returns, delayed deliveries, and invoice queries, and share lessons learned.
4. Monitor inventory and order levels, lead times, and supplier performance, and identify opportunities for service improvement and cost reduction.
5. Support the maintenance of self-service applications and manage related governance, user administration, and supplier performance.
6. Issue RFIs/RFQs, negotiate pricing and terms, and align with Category Management to ensure adherence to strategy and supplier delivery schedules.
7. Monitor and improve supplier performance, participate in supplier reviews, and escalate issues as necessary.
8. Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities through effective negotiation and supplier selection.
9. Promote sustainability in projects and products, ensuring compliance with legislation and incorporating sustainable requirements into procurement.
10. Ensure purchased items meet trade compliance requirements, including licensing and classification data maintenance.
