Job Description
We're looking to recruit a Housing First Officer in the Merseyside region on an ongoing, temporary basis. You'll play a crucial role in coordinating and providing personalised, housing-related support to vulnerable individuals with complex needs who are facing homelessness or at risk of tenancy failure.
You will be working Monday to Fridays, 35 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern between 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm and 12pm to 8pm, working one in every 6 weekends where you'd get 2 rest days through the week the following week.Due to the nature of this role, you will require an Enhanced Adults DBS, so being on the update service would be preferential. Key responsibilities:
* Providing flexible, trauma-informed support, advice and guidance to individuals who are or are facing homelessness by managing your own caseload of clients
* Carrying out assessments of need & risk, and co-creating support plans with achievable outcomes with clients on a 1-2-1 basis or within a multi-agency setting to be reviewed regularly
* Enabling and facilitating access to external opportunities for education, employment and services
* Building and maintaining positive relationships with landlords and other agencies to ensure wrap-around holistic tenancy support and long-term tenancy sustainability
* Offering advice, guidance and support in relation to arrears, debt, benefits and housing options
* Working in partnership with multiple external agencies and services to address local concerns and ensure resilient communities
What you'll need to succeed
* A strong background and relevant experience in a similar role, working with vulnerable individuals who are or facing homelessness
* A good understanding of housing legislation including The Homelessness Act, safeguarding policies and procedures and welfare benefits
* A knowledge and understanding of mental health and the mental capacity act, welfare benefits and the ability to provide sound advice & giudance when supporting individuals
* Experience of completing and reviewing risk assessments and support plans
* Driving licence with access to own vehicle and valid business insurance
* Clear, Enhanced Adults DBS ideally on the update service
