We’re looking for a knowledgeable and supportive individual to help develop the next generation of Fire, Emergency and Security Systems (FESS) professionals. This role offers the chance to share your industry experience, contribute to modern training practice and guide apprentices as they build confidence and technical skills for rewarding careers. As a training provider we are committed to investing in the development of our employees, and have successfully worked with both former FESS engineers and trainers from other electrical principles to fill their skills and knowledge gaps, in order to ensure they can thrive in their role. Whether you’re already a trainer or an experienced engineer considering a move into teaching, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by helping learners grow, achieve and thrive in a vital industry.
Why work for Access Training?
You’ll be joining one of the North East’s most established technical training providers, trusted by over 50 FESS employers across the North East region and Cumbria, and recognised for delivering FESS apprenticeships for over 20 years.
In 2023 we invested in a dedicated FESS workshop with seven fully equipped bays and a range of industry-standard kit, giving you the space and tools to deliver hands-on, realistic training that reflects how engineers actually work. Additionally, our recent move into the University of Sunderland group strengthens our long-term stability and opens doors for future investment, but your day-to-day work remains rooted in a practical, engineering-led environment. The structure is there to support you, ensuring you can focus on what matters: developing skilled FESS professionals.
You’ll be part of a team that understands the industry, uses straightforward systems that engineers feel at home with, and values the real-world experience you bring.
