As a Senior Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of CS&A engineering requirements across either a large, complex project or several medium-sized projects. You will act as the overall technical lead on single-discipline projects, and on multi-discipline projects, you will report to the Project Engineering Manager as the lead for your discipline. You will deliver project outcomes independently or by leading a team, while also supporting the development of junior engineers.
This position reports to the Manager of Facilities & Infrastructure Design and is based at the Springfields Fuel Site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the single point of accountability for the CS&A engineering discipline
2. Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, depending on project scope
3. Develop key CS&A design deliverables
4. Check and approve engineering calculations
5. Ensure design quality and compliance with standards and regulations
6. Oversee work of consultants and subcontractors
7. Produce accurate, well-formatted technical documentation
8. Prepare and review quality plans for work packages
9. Deliver work within defined scope, time, and budget
10. Resolve technical issues and manage change control
11. Ensure CDM compliance and fulfill designer responsibilities
12. Present designs to clients and stakeholders
13. Contribute to design reviews and HAZOPs
14. Produce and review safety-related documentation
15. Support bids by developing estimates, scope, and programme logic
16. Mentor junior engineers and designers
17. Build strong relationships with clients and partners
Qualifications:
18. Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline
19. Chartered Member of the ICE
20. Strong understanding of applicable standards, regulations, codes, and directives
21. Proven expertise in CS&A design principles and practices
22. Experience producing Technical Files for new products, plant, or equipment
23. Broad knowledge of civil construction and construction management
24. Strong background in designing for seismic, blast, and impact loads
25. Minimum 8 years of industry experience, including at least 3 years at Senior Engineer level
26. Ideally 5+ years in the nuclear or other highly regulated industry
