As an Oracle DBA, you will:
Administer, support, and maintain Oracle database environments (including RAC, Data Guard, and ASM).
Monitor database performance, implement tuning improvements and ensure high availability and resilience.
Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
Apply patches, upgrades and security updates.
Design, implement, and manage database security policies and access controls.
Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to support database-related needs.
Write and maintain scripts to automate routine database administration tasks.
Perform capacity planning and forecasting to ensure systems meet future demand.
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
What do I need:
Essential:
Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in enterprise-scale environments.
Strong knowledge of Oracle 12c/19c architecture, installation, configuration, and administration.
Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and ASM technologies.
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for performance tuning and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of backup/recovery strategies and tools (RMAN, datapump, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of security best practices in a database environment.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
Desirable:
Oracle certification (e.g., OCP, OCA).
Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms.
Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Shell scripting, or Python.
Knowledge of monitoring tools (OEM, Nagios, etc.).
