Overview
Our client, a specialist consultancy in the built-environment sector, is seeking a Quality & Compliance Manager to join their London/Kent office. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Directors, you will align business systems and operations with strategic growth objectives, drive continuous improvement, and uphold the firm’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Align business systems and operations with corporate strategy, identifying and implementing process efficiencies.
* Develop, implement and manage the Quality Management System (QMS), championing quality awareness and performance improvement.
* Oversee all external and internal audits, manage certifications (e.g., SafeContractor, SSIP, CHAS), KPIs, risk assessments and quality objectives.
* Conduct gap analyses on legislation (GDPR, Health & Safety), creating and executing compliance action plans.
* Collaborate on IT strategy—evaluate existing systems, research new technologies, and ensure data security and compliance with ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
* Establish and maintain project and document management systems for audit trails, financial monitoring and centralised contract data.
* Manage supplier relationships, sustainable procurement practices and service-level agreements to deliver cost efficiencies.
* Oversee facilities management, including business continuity, disaster recovery planning, office relocations and Health & Safety compliance.
* Support marketing and communications initiatives, bid submissions, CRM oversight and development of conference/blog content.
* Lead monthly risk and management meetings; prepare minutes and follow-up actions.
* Mentor and manage junior team members on quality and compliance activities.
Ideal Candidate Profile
* **3+ years of construction industry experience**
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong numerical proficiency and data-driven analytical ability.
* Proven experience in quality management, compliance frameworks and certification standards (ISO 9001, SSIP, CHAS).
* Technically adept with management systems, document controls and digital tools.
* Strategic thinker who is proactive, accountable and delivers operational improvements.
