Role Summary:
The DevOps Engineer will architect, maintain, and optimise hosting environments, CI/CD processes, and monitoring systems. The role ensures seamless deployments, strong security posture, and high service reliability as application usage and hosting capacities expand.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for modern application delivery.
* Oversee cloud hosting, server administration, and infrastructure configuration.
* Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging frameworks.
* Ensure system security and enforce best practice controls.
* Automate infrastructure workflows to optimise deployment cycles.
* Support incident response, disaster recovery, and uptime management.
* Conduct performance tuning and scalability planning.
* Work cross-functionally with product and development teams.
Required Skills & Experience
* Hands‑on experience with AWS, Azure, or comparable cloud environments.
* Proficiency in automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
* Linux/Unix systems administration and network fundamentals.
* Strong understanding of cybersecurity and secure deployment.
* Experience supporting high‑traffic hosted applications.
Desired Skills
* Cost optimisation and scalability strategy experience.
* Monitoring/observability platforms.
* Scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
* Remote/hybrid flexibility.
