The Opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Senior Energy Manager to join our Consulting Advisory team covering Energy Transition & Sustainability.
The role
You will act as a team leader in the relevant region, providing and overseeing the production of technically sound deliverables whilst meeting contractual requirements such as the reduction of energy consumption, completion of contractual energy reconciliation, review of energy invoices whilst fulfilling the role of trusted advisor to the relevant account manager(s).
Preparing reports, designs, calculations and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and program. Finally, the interpersonal skills to convey these deliverables in a clear, concise manner to clients and all key stakeholders.
You will manage the actions of a small to medium sized, locally based, single discipline technical team, including the people manager role when required by the business
Key Responsibilities Include
To lead the regional team, producing technically sound deliverables for energy commissions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks
The preparation and checking of reports, designs, calculations and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the overarching criteria of quality, cost and program. Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions.
Responsibility for the commercial success of the projects within their portfolio, controlling time resources associated with the production of deliverables.
Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, responding to queries etc.
Contributing to the preparation of bids and the general work winning function
Working on site, either on a visiting basis or in a full time but temporary role and including out of hours working
Assuming the role of people manager when required by the business
What You Will Bring To Us
Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent through further learning/experience.
Developing experience and expertise within the relevant technical field, gained in an Energy Manager role or equivalent
Applies energy management theory and principles to clearly understood situations, where concepts are matched to problems
Takes ownership for the preparation and checking of deliverables and is fully capable of working unsupervised and supervising fellow energy managers undertaking similar tasks. Can check deliverables to a reasonable standard and takes ownership for this
Very good working knowledge of relevant software and similar analytical tools
Demonstrates good commercial awareness
Has very good knowledge of suppliers and types of services they provide
Good oral communicator who is able to present arguments and ideas well
Has a good understanding of risk assessment. Experienced in the management and communication of hazards and risks on projects and ensures appropriate risk mitigation and transference has been applied
Demonstrates a good understanding of interface management. Ensures own deliverables align with deliverables produced by other disciplines
Supervisory and people manager skills. Capable of managing a small, locally based single discipline technical team, including the people manager role
Good client liaison skills, with the ability to convey a complex methodology in simple terms
