We are looking to recruit a Works Engineer who will Manage the engineering function of the site for their site. Main responsibilities: Plant and Equipment Maintenance Breakdown response and repair, management and of planned preventative maintenance schedules. Must be highly competent and resourceful in fault finding Management and use of site CMMS system - Agility. Experience of any CMMS system an advantage Ensure all statutory third party inspections are carried out, and records are kept in accordance with site system Project Management Support the Engineering Manager in the execution of capital projects for your site both shop floor/plant based and also facilities improvements. Bring forward ideas, support in the planning and budgeting process Safety Identify and action safety improvements for your site Ensure all engineering works are carried in safely an in line with Bodycote Health and Safety Procedures Carry out risk assessments, create SSOW documentation, issue and manage permits Ensure all safety related actions under engineering are completed for the site Contractor Control/Contract Management Organise and manage maintenance and service contracts for your site, including contract reviews and triggering change of vendor where needed Set expectations, issue permits, and manage contractors while on site, ensuring safe working practices and adherence with Bodycote Qualifications, experience and skills: Person Specification Strong electrical background essential - must be multiskilled Highly independent and responsible engineer. Must be able to demonstrate ability to plan and manage own time, as well as guide and encourage others Strong drive to make improvements. CI experience is important and must be able to action improvement ideas and gather support across different levels of the organisation Qualified to HNC/D level preferred but not essential - equivalent experience accepted Very good verbal and written communication skills are essential. Able to produce project plans, written reports and basic data analysis Relationships Engineering Manager - Direct line report to the engineering manager. Frequent communication and reporting on project status, downtime, and KPIs on a monthly basis General Manager - Dotted line report to the site general manager - ensure engineering activity is in line with site priorities on a day to day basis Production - planning and communicating engineering works, updating on timescales, working together on improvement projects Engineers/Works Engineers - Where sites have multiple engineers, work in partnership to carry out daily tasks and plan works Preferred Technical Knowledge Areas Thermal spray/metal finishing processes and advantage but full training will be provided Electrical controls, safety circuits, control panel fault finding Knowledge of variable speed drives, fans, extraction systems Robotic maintenance and fault finding - fanuc preferred Knowledge of pressurised gasses and associated safety controls Basic pneumatic and hydraulic controls Compressed air systems Refrigeration systems, water process control and pumping systems.
